Certification, Portie Puppy
This morning, Eric dropped me off bright and early downtown to meet Rebecca on our way in to take our final test – the ASCP Board of Registry exam to get our MT and then we’d be done with school forever!!! I was so nervous, we both felt a little sick going in and the in-depth process of photo-taking and fingerprinting to even take the exam was mildly stressful. But…seeing the PASS was the greatest thing ever!!! Now I’m just waiting for my scores in the mail
Immediately after we were done, we picked up Colleen and headed up north to Traverse City to pick up Rebecca’s new puppy. Names that were being considered were: Murphy, Baccheaus and Bertier.
When we were almost there, Rebecca called to say that we were close only to find out that her puppy hadn’t been picked up and readied from the owner’s house…so we stopped for lunch and ice cream and then went back to pick him up.
Love at first sight!
The drive home was very thought-inducing for Rebecca as she struggled to name her new pup – the final name is Gus!
Meet GUS!
Eric came over after Gus had his bath and took some photos as well:
He’s a smart little thing! For more puppy photos – Eric’s are HERE and mine are HERE.

Josh got a job in Colorado, and is flying out faster than he thought he would be. So, we went out to dinner for the last time at the Traverse City Pie Company. We are picking Rebecca’s new puppy up tomorrow after our certification test and then he is going to stop by to see him so this isn’t the last time we’ll see him…
No commentsTrip to the Beach
Since we’ve moved to Allendale, Eric likes to drive out the to the lake whenever we can. We took Mason today and he did ok, turns out he’s beyond terrified of skateboarders though lol.
A beautiful time!
Mason’s New Trick and Puppy Born
I taught Mason to carry a bucket for a SAR Demo – It’s the cutest trick!
We had our first Bonfire at our house afterwards, it was pretty fun – if really buggy. In the midst of that, I found out that our puppy had been born!!!!
Balen had 10, 5 boys and 5 girls. I am so excited!
Some of our name picks so far are: Keno, Kaos, Capone and Wixom.
No commentsGraduation (Number 2)
Tonight was the CLS program’s graduation. Unfortunately, no one was able to come for me, so I kind of adopted Rebecca’s family as my own. It was a decent ceremony with lots of good food.
Our favorite professors!
We’re finally done!!!!
Colleen’s Graduation
Today, I rode to Detroit with Rebecca and her parents to see Colleen graduate. I even got to take one of the cameras with a couple of lenses so I could take some photos:
Congratulations Colleen!!!
No commentsTruck Troubles
Eric leased the truck and then proceeded to drive it well over the leased miles, so now we owe a lot of money in overages. At my urging, he had talked to the bank and was reassured that we would be able to buy the truck when the time came through them. Unfortunately, when we went to actually turn the truck in, we were told this is not the case. We ended up frantically buying a minivan (dubbed Whitey) and now we are waiting to hear if they will work out a payment plan with us or not while we share a vehicle that is not exactly what we had hoped to have, but will do it’s job (*fingers crossed*). Hopefully we’ll be able to afford another vehicle by the end of the summer – this has really set back our summer plans
Cleaning out 3 years of accumulated dog hair:
It was sad for both of us, for so many reasons when we dropped the truck off…
I’m sorry baby!
