Lilly’s First Birthday
We don’t often get to Holland to visit anymore, but today was Lilly’s first birthday and they rented a hall for the party so we headed down to visit and celebrate.
Here’s the fam along with Jennifer’s sister’s fam:
The Birthday Girl:
Bella, Lilly’s cousin, is possibly the most photogenic child I have met, she LOVES to pose:
Can’t forget Dylan’s little trick of putting olives on his finger before he’ll eat them, he’s so adorable!
No commentsAdam’s Birthday…Round II
Although we celebrated the night of Adam’s 21st, we wanted to all go out together with the rest of the fam for a true celebration. And did we ever! We went out for some drinks in a small bar just the immediate fam, then we headed to Hart to meet up with everyone else.
We went to Schooners next. Which was all but dead, but we had some fantastic food and drinks there…
Before heading to Walkers, which was jam-packed full of people from high school, but still a good time…
Then, I saw this:
And said that it was time to go…but…
here’s Dad asking Adam if he (Dad) can have one more beer:
I said no, Adam said yes and shortly thereafter it resulted in:
To end the night especially fun, Adam yacked the whole way back to the house and we had to keep pulling over. At which point a cop came up and gave Dad a sobriety test and took his fireman badge. I made Mom lock the door of the car so Adam could dry-heave into a hankie instead of all over a cop’s shoe. We finally made it home and I made sure Adam was set with water, towels etc in the bathroom before heading to bed.
ETA: the cop ended up coming back and giving Dad his badge back…some people shouldn’t choose their jobs based solely on the the power trips it gives them… *eye roll*
No commentsEarly Birthday Gift…
Eric wanted to take some professional photos of a couple of things for someone and was trying to figure out a way to do it with his make-shift dropcloth (a fleece blanket draped over a chair). I wanted him to have the best to work with, so I gave him his gift early…a “real” dropcloth set-up.
The make-shift dropcloth shots(sometimes it fell and freaked Mason and Kya out, it didn’t bother Midas one bit though lol):
Eric also took some…rather creapy photos of himself too:
With the new backdrop:
I’ll post a couple of each of the kids but the whole set is HERE.
Although some of them were pretty funny – for example, this is Midas and Kya before I came to help pose:
After I made an appearance to assist:
Mason needs someone to help him pose only because his enthusiasm can be a little hard to control sometimes:
Adam happened to already be dressed up for another event so we snagged him for some photos too:
No commentsAdam’s 21st Birthday
Unfortunately, Adam turns 21 on a crappy day, where none of his friends are available to come and celebrate and he has class and work the next day. So, we took him out to a small hole-in-the-wall bar at midnight for a short and sweet celebration.

Aunt Sheila made me a blanket, I love it! Plus, it’s big enough for Eric to fit under it too…
No commentsOpen Space Land Visit
Today it was cold but clear and sunny so we took the gang to the Open Space Land in Allendale. We had a slight problem when some idiot girl let her off-lead German Shepherd approach us where I had corralled my three off the trail in sit/stays for them to pass. I despise oblivious dog owners…
The gang had a blast though!
No commentsRascal Flatts wsg Jessica Simpson
For our Two Year Anniversary, I got Eric tickets to Rascal Flatts, a band which he really loves and which he hasn’t seen since we started dating. I think their music is ok, a little too boy-bandish for me but still alright. Therefore, I was blown away by the amazing show that they put on. Jessica Simpson was annoying and overdramatic with the way that she moves her mouth and plays with her hair but that was to be expected. In the row in front of us, there was a drunk woman with the shortest skirt I’ve ever seen on. She was crying for Jessica Simpson and she kept bending over the row in front of her, baring her ass for all to see and not even noticing. She was obnoxious and horrible and eventually somoene complained and the woman and her very embarrassed…guy friend were kicked out.
The rest of the was just awesome though:
