Lillian Faith Stoike

February 29th, 2008 | Category: Eric, Family, Lillian Faith

Ahh, babies…is there anything cuter? Especially when you can hand them off when they cry/poop/puke etc :) This little girl is just adorable!!

And who can resist tiny, perfect, little baby feet??? Huh? Huh? Not me!

She is so popular – getting her photo taken all the time:

Her big cousin, Isabella was also there:

They’ll be best friends, I can tell.

Here is the Lilly-girl with her UNCLE Eric:

…and AUNT Falon – yup, they called me “aunt” – it got me all choked up.

Isn’t she darling, cute, precious, adorable and perfect?? Yeah – she is! If you NEED to see more photos of Miss Lilly, the rest of my photos are here…or you can go to Eric’s, which are more artistic/better :) .

Timber is Adopted!

February 28th, 2008 | Category: Timber

Tonight we had a very nice guy come out to meet Timber. He brought along his 8 month old black lab, Baxter. I’d talked to him at length a couple of times on the phone and was pretty sure it would be a good match but we wanted to make sure the two dogs hit it off as well. Things went great!! Timber greeted the new dog in his customary way – bounding up, tail wiggling like crazy and tempting him to play – which they did – and hard! It was a blast.

After watching them for awhile we got to discussing dock jumping and he’s planning on looking into it. He’s also thinking of trying Timber on some birds!! :) I’m so happy for the guy, he’s such a sweet dog!

He’s going away for the weekend so we’re keeping Timber until Monday. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to this cute face:

But, he won’t be living far and we’re going to be able to keep touch and see how he’s doing. It’s going to be quieter in our house without three dogs… :(

New Furniture

February 25th, 2008 | Category: Randomness

Today my Mom emailed me a sweet coffee table/end table set. It was oak and gorgeous. We both thought it would match my beautiful dining room table perfectly. I’ve been wanting to replace Eric’s coffee and end table set since we moved. They’re glass and wrought iron and they show every dog hair and any dust and also they tend to chip in very fine slivers. I don’t like them because they’re cold.

So, I emailed the guy that had the oak set and he dropped his price, provided we could come and pick them up tonight. He was only a couple miles away in Walker so we headed right over and picked them up. They are gorgeous. One square end table, one round end table, a coffee table and a sofa/library table. I like that the two end tables are different, although I don’t know what I’m going to do with my sofa/library table yet.

(and here is my brother, who is moving in with us for awhile)

There are a couple of tiny surface scratches that are easily removed with refinishing. I do want to finish the tops anyway so that I don’t have to worry about water-stains. The coffee table has a small spot where the finish was eaten by something red:

I think that will be easily removable as well. I LOVE my new furniture!!!  :-D

Eric and Phlebotomy

February 25th, 2008 | Category: Eric, School

Today I convinced Eric to come into my laboratory after class so that I could do some phlebotomies on him. I did one one-tube syringe draw, one one-tube vacutainer draw and a successful attempt with a butterfly on his hand! :-D I was very proud of myself and very thankful for him coming in!! Now I’m back on track with the number of phlebotomies I should have this far in the school year. He got a little faint after the second tube and had to lay down, but he said it was totally the blood being drawn and not my technique. I am so thrilled that I accomplished so much today! Thanks baby!!! (even if he was a slightly unwilling subject…)

New UAD Rules = New Collars

February 25th, 2008 | Category: The Boys

The boys are not allowed to jump in either their Blocky Dogs collars OR any collars with tags and definitely not in a prong…so we had a small dilemma. We had no collars that we could use for the upcoming event this weekend. I decided to order collars specially for UAD events.

They’re sweet SunGlo collars, so they are waterproof, odor-proof and they came with little brass plates with their names and our cell numbers listed on them. I just don’t feel safe having them out somewhere so busy with no visible identification on them, even though nothing will probably every happen – better safe than sorry. I ordered them from Crown Point Dog Supply and they were very reasonably priced and shipped extremely quickly. :)

The Green is for Mason and the Blue for Midas.

Pretty cool huh?

Adopt Timber!

February 25th, 2008 | Category: Timber

We have an UAD event coming up this weekend in Novi and we were planning on bringing Timber to it. We made him a special bandana for the occasion. :)

The funny thing is that I listed him on Craigslist, MLive and Hoobly today and I’m already getting some interest. In fact, we have someone coming to meet him on Thursday!! So, we might not be needing this nifty home-made bandana after all.

Midas is Buds Too

February 24th, 2008 | Category: The Boys, Timber

We only have two dog beds in the bedroom…and three dogs. So, someone either has to go without or they have to double-up. Usually it’s Mason who shares with Midas or Timber. Lately though, Midas and Timber have been cuddling:

I enjoy having three dogs :)
