Midas Rally #2
Tonight was Midas’s second rally class – just as terrific as the first! I love it! Go here for more info and to see what kind of courses we are practicing on.
After class I had to drive back in horrible weather to meet Eric, Jason (his coworker), Lori (Jason’s wife) and Allison (a friend) at our house so that we could head out to McFadden’s. I had a GREAT time with many laughs with Tina, Mike and Allison!
Wacky Weather in MI
I made this post when it was super warm, with this photo:
Two days later it was back to being frigidly cold with any extremities becoming painfully frozen if bared to the wind. And the river ice refroze.
Poor little ducks were huddled in an alcove that hadn’t frozen yet (Eric’s photo).
I walk across this bridge every day:
No commentsMidas’s Heavy Head
Over the years I’ve had Midas, I’ve noticed that he will rest his head on anything that is available – wall, chair, couch, leg, hand, chest etc. When I saw this photo that Eric took I couldn’t help but laugh.

Mason and Timber have very similar personalities. One thing they have in common is they like to cuddle:
No commentsMason’s Harness Came In!!
Mason’s weight pull harness finally came in today (I say finally only because I was excited and therefore impatiently awaiting its arrival – not because it took forever). I ordered it from Alaskan Dream Dog Equipment and I am very impressed, it looks terrific and the process leading up to the order was efficient and helpful.
He is such a dear and lets me put whatever I want on him and wears it like it was his idea!
I wish I was feeling better so I could do more than just put it on him…maybe later this week.
Isn’t he handsome??
SNOW DAY!!!!
After 50 degree weather yesterday that melted dang near all of our snow, it dropped down to 1 degree and snowed. So…SNOW DAY!! Which, for people that go to Grand Valley AND work there (like me) that means no work or class! It’s pretty amazing to have the guy that has to put the notice up on the official website living with me because I’m one of the first to know!
*I’m so grateful because I feel like death warmed over…I got sick all of a sudden on Monday night and yesterday was hell with work and school…maybe if I sleep all day, I’ll feel better? *fingers crossed and headed back to bed*
No commentsWarmth…again
It’s becoming unseasonably warm for Michigan again. I have to walk across the bridge over the Grand River every day now since the office moved downtown. It usually is pretty dreary and dull with dirty ice in every direction. But, with the sudden heat wave (50 degrees today!), the river ice is melting. There were ducks playing in the shallows today.
The giant icicle on the back of our house shrunk down to half that size and eventually fell off all together. Weird.
No commentsEric’s Violin/Fiddle Lessons
For Christmas this year, I got Eric violin lessons. Brittany did a little side research and is working on more fiddle-y stuff with him because that’s what he is truly interested in, which is pretty darn sweet I think.
Tonight was Eric’s second lesson. He’s actually practiced this week (twice; and for the King of Procrastination this is a feat) and so I believe that it went fairly well. He sounds different between the two videos. I forgot to get photos in the excitement of the first practice but I remembered this time. He also took some photos of the violin that we are Paying as he Plays for.
GIANT Icicle!
This is the icicle outside of our laundry room window:
Yes, it is touching the ground.
*Eye roll* No longer wondering why our heating bill is so high…
