Falon’s World

Well, the breeder got back to me today and we now have a for-sure puppy. Previously to this, we were waiting between two, a large male with a black-and-white collar and a smaller male with a green collar. She chose the green male for us! She said that he’s very adventurous, happy and friendly and well-balanced with great toy drive. We think he’s adorable!

He’s 6 weeks old already. Our amazing breeder also found a friend, who happens to be getting a female from this same litter and coming to MI in a couple of weeks – so she’s bringing our little guy with her!!

We’re hoping his ears don’t come the rest of the way up until after we get him. We’re still debating names and the final probably won’t be picked until we meet him. But, isn’t he adorable??

Today we slept a long time and when we got up we ran a whole bunch of errands – priced fencing materials, bought dog food, stopped by a coworker’s house, hooked up the air conditioner unit in the bedroom (thanks Dad!), fixed the leash rack and made a key rack . It was a good day!

Eric wanted to add some photos to his portfolio so he asked if I would pose for a short jaunt on our property. It was a really warm day with loads of bugs so neither of us lasted that long before we wanted to head back to the house. The photos turned out really good though…talented photographer.

After six years of school, and a particularly difficult, grueling and miserable last year, my parents agreed to throw a party. Partly for me, but partly just to get friends together to have a good time and some drinks. We had volleyball/badminton set up and some GR friends came too. It was a good time.

My poor parents had so many problems getting the party ready to go but we all had a good time – thanks Mom and Dad!!!!

Since we’ve moved to Allendale, Eric likes to drive out the to the lake whenever we can. We took Mason today and he did ok, turns out he’s beyond terrified of skateboarders though lol.

I taught Mason to carry a bucket for a SAR Demo – It’s the cutest trick!

We had our first Bonfire at our house afterwards, it was pretty fun – if really buggy. In the midst of that, I found out that our puppy had been born!!!!

Balen had 10, 5 boys and 5 girls. I am so excited!

Some of our name picks so far are: Keno, Kaos, Capone and Wixom.

We were at a SAR Demo today and Eric got some photos of Mason – he’s so stinkin’ cute!

After a lot of discussion and research, Eric and I have decided to add a fourth dog to the mix, a Dutch Shepherd. When we adopted Kya, we had hoped for another agility dog, one that perhaps wasn’t as moody as Midas. Unfortunately, that is not to be. I have other hopes for this pup as well…but we’ll hold out on mentioning those until he’s older

They are so athletic and I’ve talked at length with the breeder and feel really good about getting a pup that will fit into our home perfectly – the landlord is also agreeable to adding one last dog

Eric wanted to take some professional photos of a couple of things for someone and was trying to figure out a way to do it with his make-shift dropcloth (a fleece blanket draped over a chair). I wanted him to have the best to work with, so I gave him his gift early…a “real” dropcloth set-up.

Today it was cold but clear and sunny so we took the gang to the Open Space Land in Allendale. We had a slight problem when some idiot girl let her off-lead German Shepherd approach us where I had corralled my three off the trail in sit/stays for them to pass. I despise oblivious dog owners…

The gang had a blast though!
