Timber Update
We went to see Timber tonight to make sure he’s adjusting to his new home well and that it really was a good fit. He looked like he was very happy but he definitely recognized us and was thrilled to see us. It was harder to leave him this time because I know I won’t see him for a long time…if again
Look at this face – *cry*
Timber is Adopted!
Tonight we had a very nice guy come out to meet Timber. He brought along his 8 month old black lab, Baxter. I’d talked to him at length a couple of times on the phone and was pretty sure it would be a good match but we wanted to make sure the two dogs hit it off as well. Things went great!! Timber greeted the new dog in his customary way – bounding up, tail wiggling like crazy and tempting him to play – which they did – and hard! It was a blast.
After watching them for awhile we got to discussing dock jumping and he’s planning on looking into it. He’s also thinking of trying Timber on some birds!!
I’m so happy for the guy, he’s such a sweet dog!
He’s going away for the weekend so we’re keeping Timber until Monday. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to this cute face:
But, he won’t be living far and we’re going to be able to keep touch and see how he’s doing. It’s going to be quieter in our house without three dogs…
Adopt Timber!
We have an UAD event coming up this weekend in Novi and we were planning on bringing Timber to it. We made him a special bandana for the occasion.
The funny thing is that I listed him on Craigslist, MLive and Hoobly today and I’m already getting some interest. In fact, we have someone coming to meet him on Thursday!! So, we might not be needing this nifty home-made bandana after all.
No commentsMidas is Buds Too
We only have two dog beds in the bedroom…and three dogs. So, someone either has to go without or they have to double-up. Usually it’s Mason who shares with Midas or Timber. Lately though, Midas and Timber have been cuddling:
I enjoy having three dogs
Buddies
Mason and Timber have very similar personalities. One thing they have in common is they like to cuddle:
No commentsTimber and Mason, Bitey-Face
This afternoon Timber and Mason had a rousing round of bitey-face in which Midas slept the whole time, occasionally getting nipped as well lol.
At one point, Mason got up and collapsed on top of Timber lol.
There was a momentary lull,
then…
Poor Midas lol. Since we brought Timber home he’s pretty much put up with everything he dishes out, just like he does with Mason:
Timber is always aware of the camera…
Shake it off!
No commentsTimber, the Park
Today we took all three boys to the park. It was snowing like crazy and pretty cold but we all had a blast. Timber does splendidly staying with us/the boys while out and about so it’s nice to let him run around with them and not have to be tied to a long-line.
I have to say, his floppy ears are my favorite thing to catch in a photo!
This one it looks like he doesn’t have a leg *haha*
We tried to get a group photo…it took a couple of tries but we finally managed.
Midas mostly wanted to belly-crawl around with his mouth open like a bulldozer and scarf down snow…
Finally we have success!
I had better luck with separate posing photos:
I got some other photos of Timber and the boys racing around, they are here. Eric got some terrific action shots though. He lost the ball for the Chuck-It right off the bat so I was tossing packed snowballs up in the air for them to catch. Midas and Mason have the concept down, Timber would rather wait for them to hit the ground and then try to find them lol.
I wanted to have my photo taken with the boys…
Eric got a little over-enthusiastic about calling them (to look at the camera):
I also wanted a photo with Timber:
Right after struggling to get Timber to pose properly for this photo, he sat perfectly for the next bunch!

Today we picked up our next foster. He is an owner-surrender. He’s a year old and more puppy than they can handle with their adult dog. What a SWEETHEART! He’s just such a lover. He minds very well. An discouraging word in his direction is enough to halt any undesirable behavior. He gets along terrific with both my dominant and my submissive dog. I honestly can’t see this dog not getting along with anyone, person or animal. He’s very sensitive and very responsive to positive reinforcement. He tends to mouth hands/arms when he gets excited (no biting, just drooling), but is catching on that that is undesirable behavior. He knows sit and shake, we’re working on stay and lay down. He understands the concept of getting an object thrown but is a little rough on the bringing it to us part
. He rides very well in a vehicle, even crammed in the back with my two labs. He sleeps in the bedroom at night with no problems, is very solidly potty-trained. We did have an incident with him trying to mark stuff on first entering our house but he caught on extremely quickly that was not allowed and we haven’t had a problem since. He’s very decent on the leash. He doesn’t heel but he also doesn’t wrench my arm out of my socket, he knows where the end of the leash is and while staying there and weaving all over the place he rarely pulls. He does fine in the kennel, no barking at all. I think this is one of the nicest, most endearing dogs and can’t imagine it will take long for him to find his forever home. He’s a tad camera shy (I get the feeling he doesn’t like all that focus on him lol), but I managed to get a couple, and so did Eric.
Eric’s:
Mine (excuse the lighting…):
He’s got one “naked” side…
Look at that loving face!
The rest of his set is here.
