Falon’s World

Tonight was group dinner, it was Eric’s turn and because he didn’t know what he was going to make we had to run to Meijer before-hand to get groceries. I bought this:

He ended up fixing chicken and a bunch of different veggies and rolls. It was good. But, the best part came after dinner. We all made Christmas cookies. All six of us, plus the two dogs crammed into the kitchen was quite an interesting feat.

We have no rolling pin, so right off we had a small dilemma – solved by an empty (and cleaned) liquor bottle *sigh* That’s not redneck-y at all!

Eric was quite proud of the idea:

The boys were made to stay and observe in the laundry room, out of the way, but still within prime and speedy striking distance if anything hit the floor:

Dan was in charge of sprinkle-mixing:

After a couple of minutes, Midas got bored with the cooking and spread out so he could keep an eye on me coming in and out:

The cookies went into the oven:

And Eric’s produced one huge cookie (resulting from putting too many too close in too small a space):

We had to unwrap all of these for Kelly’s cookies (Dan ate as many as he unwrapped):

Eric threw a fit until he got to “Push the Kisses”:

Hers turned out very good:

Then it was on to decorating Eric’s…His idea of holiday frosting was pee-yellow and blood-red. This is an example of Eric’s finished cookie:

Today we went to the pet store and bought four goldfishes for my tank. They’re beautiful. I named mine Flish and Flash and Eric named two Rock and Blue…

Here is the tank on the tank “stand” with all their stuff stored conveniently underneath:

Rock is in the top left and is calico colored. Flash is in the bottom left and has a stripe running along the top of his body. The white in the middle is Blue and the regular bright orange one is Flish.

This week was hell at school. Midterms in three of my four classes. I made it through though and I think I did well on all of them! Today after class, I set the fish tank (the ten gallon that we traded Adam for the 50 gallon of Eric’s) up so that it would have time to get up to room temperature and the filter could run for awhile before we get my fishes.

Then I did the laundry (that Eric started one whole week ago), cleaned the house (Midas is shedding like mad) and then relaxed in the evening while Eric went to a High School football game to shoot some photos (for pay thank goodness ).
